In January 2024, David was appointed as part of the Future Leaders Committee of the Cathedral Music Trust, and is now the Chair of the Committee.

The Trust is a national charity supporting the work of musicians to enrich lives through the power of cathedral music. The main objectives of the Trust are to support excellence, broaden participation, and increase the long-term sustainability of the sector.

The Future Leaders programme was set up in 2023 to capture the insights, expertise, and dedication of early career participants and stakeholders in the cathedral music sphere, and channel them toward a common goal.

The Committee is involved in the conception and delivery of a number of events and programmes for early career church musicians across the UK.
